Instagram is one of the largest mobile application for photo/videos sharing and social networking service. It can be downloaded on iOS, Windows phone, Android phone, and tablet. You need to download the Instagram app on your mobile or tablets to sign up for an Instagram account. Note that you can't create your account using a computer, but you can later view Instagram account via computer. Login to Instagram if you already a member.

It can be shared on different social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Tumblr. Earlier you were able to post 4:3 aspect ratio only but with latest version on Instagram you can post photos in any aspect ratio. Besides, this can adjust digital filters to your images. But remember that 15 second is maximum duration for Instagram videos to be posted.

The creating an Instagram account is an easy job to perform. Follow the steps listed below.

• Go to google play store for android, iOS app store for iOS or windows phone store for windows phone to download the Instagram application.
  Search ‘Instagram’ on your Store and tap ‘Install’ button. If you are using Windows phone store, it has Instagram beta version only. Third party applications are available for Blackberry and Nokia Symbian phone. You can use ‘6tag’ as third party app for Windows phone.
• Open app after installation process completes.
  When installation process completes, it will be stored on your device. Tap your menu button and tap Instagram application.
• Tap 'Sign up with email'.
  The Instagram account can be created with your email address or Facebook account. To create an account with existing email address choose to sign up with email. If you want to sign up with your Facebook account, follow next step discussed below.
  By clicking Sign up with email, you came to agree on its Terms & Privacy Policy. If you want to go through its 'Terms & Privacy Policy', then click its link below.

• Provide your full name (optional). Create your username and password for Instagram. And click 'Next'.
• Add your Display photo by tapping on 'Photo' button.
  Display picture can be added to your Instagram account by tapping on photo button. It helps your friends and family in recognizing you on Instagram. Try to upload your own and recent photo as far as possible. Remember that Display picture will be public.
• Search your contacts.
  You can skip this step as this is an optional step. Tap on 'Skip' to skip the step.
• Find Facebook friends to follow.
  This is also an optional step. You can skip the step tapping on 'Skip'.
• You can create an Instagram account with a Facebook account too, to sign up from a Facebook click on 'Register with Facebook'.
   If you’ve any existing Facebook account to link with Instagram, you can select this sign-up a step. By clicking this, you will be given access to Instagram on your Facebook account. But you can edit info you provide to Instagram account.
  You need to login your Facebook account with its credentials for Instagram if you’ve not login Facebook on your device. If you’ve already login, you’ll be directly forwarded to Instagram.
• And tap 'Ok'.
   Tapping ok will provide permission of Facebook account to Instagram account. Edit your info for Instagram by tapping ‘Edit the info you provide’ button.

• Congrats now you are on the Instagram home page.
   Now you successfully sign up your Instagram account. Now you are on Home page.

Don't forget to confirm your email address entered above for a safe Instagram account. To verify the email address, go to your email address, check inbox and click on the link as shown below.

Instagram sign up with phone number

With the latest update on Instagram, users can sign up an Instagram account using their phone number. Tap Sign up with an email address or phone number.

• Choose your country and enter phone number under Phone category and click ‘Next’.
• Enter confirmation code and click ‘Next’.
  You will receive six-digit confirmation code on your mobile number. If you don’t receive a confirmation code, then tap ‘Resend code’ and wait few minutes.
• Enter full name and choose a password.
  Your full name will be displayed to Instagram followers. Providing real and full name will be helpful to recognize you. While creating a password for Instagram, we suggest creating a strong password so that no one can easily make a guess out of it.
• Add your Display photo by tapping on 'Photo' button.
  Display picture can be added to your Instagram account by tapping on photo button. It helps your friends and family in recognizing you on Instagram. You can also change or upload Display photo later when you completed sign up process.
• Create a username and click ‘Next’.
  Add username or use the suggestion from the Instagram team. Try to pick a unique username, but you can change this any time later.
• Log in to your Facebook account and follow friends or skip option.
  This is optional. You can skip the option if you don’t want to follow or linked the account with Facebook.
• Find contacts to follow or skip it.
  This is optional too, search contacts who are already on Instagram. Go to settings and disconnect to remove contacts later.

Now you have successfully signed up an Instagram account. Follow more people and start sharing photos & videos.
